We had another wonderful day of golf at the Slieve Russell golf course when our ladies senior foursomes team took part in the Golf Ireland All-Ireland matchplay tournament last Saturday. First we played Royal Tara, Co. Meath in the quarter final and we had a wonderful win with the final match finishing on the 19th hole.

Well done to Simon Walker on winning the Castletroy Senior Scratch Cup last Saturday. Simon carded rounds of 67 and 69 to win by four strokes. Simon had three birdies in the last four holes to secure the victory. A brilliant performance from the young golfer. A great weekend was had by all who played in the Captain’s Prize (Kieran Madden) at the weekend. Despite the weather conditions over 150 men participated in the competition which was a great turnout. After 36 holes both John Coyne & Francis Ferguson were on the same score of 134 nett. A three hole playoff

A great couple of days was had by the ladies playing in Ruth Kilduff’s Lady Captain’s Prize. Different weather conditions over the two day’s play but despite this great scores were achieved.
